Liposuction

When you lose excess weight or after childbirth, fat does not disappear in some areas due to genetic body structure or age. The abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, thighs, upper legs and inner knees are the areas that are particularly prone to fat and are the last to start melting.

Liposuction is a contour correction surgery, the contours of the body are shaped at the same time as fat is removed. If a small amount of fat will not be aspirated from a small area, it is much more comfortable for both the patient and the physician to apply under general anesthesia.

In recent years, the use of devices that help us dissolve fat using ultrasonic waves in surgeries both tightens the skin and provides better results. As in every field, we get much better results with new technological devices in liposuction.

The duration of surgery varies according to the amount of fat we will aspirate. It is sufficient for patients to stay in the hospital for 1 or 2 nights after surgery. The duration of hospitalization is also related to the amount of fat removed. Our patient is mobilized immediately 4-6 hours after the operation, again, oral fluid intake is very important and postoperative fluid intake is started at similar times and the patient’s water intake is started. Special medical corsets can be used for 30-45 days and the patient can return to normal daily life between 7 and 10 days.

Placing drains (small hoses that drain the fluid) in the surgical area between 3-5 days when excessive amount of structure is aspirated and superficial fats are also removed helps the edema to pass quickly and accelerate healing. Lymph massage for 1 hour every other day for 5 days after the operation is very valuable in terms of accelerating healing.
